Ubisoft has revealed its new music game Rocksmith, which allows players to use a real guitar as a controller.
It is the first title that enables people to plug an authentic guitar into a Playstation 3, Xbox 360 or PC. The only catch with the release is that guitars must have a standard quarter-inch input jack to be compatible.
Geoffroy Sardin, chief marketing and sales officer at Ubisoft, said: "Whether a beginner or a seasoned guitarist, players can progress at their own speed and walk away from the game with the ability to play songs by memory.
"Rocksmith is the only video game that gets players stage-ready."
The game features a large library of music with tracks from artists such as Interpol, Nirvana and The Rolling Stones.
Rocksmith's arrival will give gamers a new music franchise to enjoy and it may see levels of high demand after Harmonix confirmed that it has disbanded its Guitar Hero franchise.
