The Getaway is a video game that was developed by Team SOHO and was published by Sony Computer Entertainment Europe Ltd.
The game was launched exclusively on the PlayStation 2 home gaming console from Sony.

It was released during the month of December 2002.

The game can be classed as an action title that is played from a third-person perspective and includes elements from genres like shooter and racing.

The story is built upon the characters of Mark Hammond, who is an ex-gangster that stands accused of murdering his wife and has his child kidnapped, and Frank Carter, a cop that operates outside the law and aims to do his own brand of justice.

They both aim to destroy Charlie Jolson, the current mafia boss.

The game is split into two parts and each complements the other in terms of information and backstory.

The game is set in London and the player needs to both drive around, sneak and shoot in order to do a number of missions.

Players are also able to move around town at leisure and explore it.

The two characters have different abilities, like taking hostages and using the butts of guns as weapons.

Armored car weapon
Press Up, Down, Left, Right, Square, Triangle, Circle during the FMV sequence that plays before the main menu appears. The sound of a woman groaning will confirm correct code entry. You can now shoot the weapon in the armored car during missions by pressing L3. Repeat the code to disable its effect.
