New Steam release from Manic Game Studios

New Steam release from Manic Game Studios

Tetris meets Rubik's Cube in Critical Mass

Two-man Australian game studio Manic Game Studios has announced the release of its first title via Valve's software-download platform Steam.
Critical Mass is an action puzzler in the long-held tradition of 'match three' games.
Players are presented with a rotating game block similar in appearance to a Rubik's Cube, which they must add coloured bricks to from the outer edge of the screen.
When three unit bricks in a row are matched of the same colour, they are removed from the gaming area.
Different modes challenge the player in different ways - for instance, survival mode requires rapid removal of the bricks in order to beat the clock.
By contrast, meditation mode moves at the gamer's own pace and encourages them to build the single largest combo score possible.
The official release date for Critical Mass is June 20th, with a ten per cent discount on the cover price for one week after its launch.
